opera composer, chapter 2
On the coast just west of Lucca is Torre del Lago, home of Giacomo Puccini, of Madama Butterfly and La Boheme fame. Beautiful area on the lake, no surprise why the Maestro made it his home. As with Verdi, Puccini's name is plastered all over the area, the boat below is named Cio-Cio San, after the Butterfly character.
