So, on a lark today we took a train out to Sintra, a charming and picturesque old Medieval town.

To do it properly, we probably would have had to do an overnighter, and spend the better part of two days there, but we board our ship tomorrow (woohooo!) so the logistics didn’t work.  I had hoped that the train ride itself might go through some beautiful, rolling Portuguese countryside.  It turned out to be mostly less-than-beautiful Portuguese apartment buildings, but I love trains, and am happy to take one from anywhere, to anywhere.
