The “unfinished obelisk.” Commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (c. 1,500 BC), it would have been the tallest obelisk in the world, but cracks appeared while it was still being carved out of granite, so the project was abandoned. It’s still connected to the granite bedrock on the bottom side.
