We are told that the ruins at Hvalsey are among the finest & best preserved of all the Norse period settlements in Greenland. The church dates from approximately 1300 CE. We have onboard the Senior Archaeologist at the University of Glasgow, so we’ve been immersed in lectures every day, in between shore visits.
