As we left Cooper Bay and headed for Grytviken, we saw a humpback whale. And then another one. After 10-15 minutes, I lost track of the count. But all told, it was at least 40, inside of an hour or so.

    40! And the humpbacks are very late coming to Kona-side, even though there are many around Maui.
