We befriended the taxi guy who drove us into Singapore from the airport, so the next day he gave us a three hour driving tour of the city. Singapore couldn't have been more different from Bangkok: Bangkok is chaotic and cramped and noisy and frenetic, Singapore is, by comparison at least, laid back, wide streets, grand old trees, etc. and, of course the modern architecture. Immense buildings, office and apartment alike. And yet within the concrete jungles there are green areas, lakes, ponds, and fountains. Wandered around Chinatown as well.
