While they are incredibly adept at the near-vertical environment, they can only graze down to a certain point above the ocean, without the danger of falling. And the wildflowers and other plant life know that, and thrive, inches below danger-level.

Obviously there are sheep everywhere you look around here. On the Vestmanna cliffs, they are contentedly grazing on what looks like perilously-close to vertical cliffs, above the ocean. Would have to think that if you picked one up and put him on a flat surface, he’d fall over. “I don’t know how to do that”.

Out of Husavik. Some of the other-worldly stuff for which Iceland is justly famous.

In Siglufjörður, took a tour in an old restored oak boat - used to be a fishing boat, now taking tourist/passengers. They set up a few folks with fishing gear, and most were successful. VERY windy and VERY cold.

We are anchored at Jan Mayen island, in the wonderful middle of nowhere - home of the magnificent Beerenberg volcano. Gorgeous.

We are so far north, the sun doesn’t even come close to setting. Good thing there are heavy, thick curtains in the suite, to counteract the non-stop daylight.

The housekeeping staff on the ship has frequently shown off their whimsical towel-sculpting skills, when we get back to the suite after dinner.
